Religious Studies Department

All students are required to take Religious Studies courses each year at Fountainview. The basic course descriptions are:

Bible 9 - Listening to the Past; Changing the Future

This course is designed to teach students how to study the stories of the Bible. Students learn to investigate the context of a Bible story and to apply principles from the story to their own lives.

Bible 10 - Life and Teachings of Jesus

An introduction to Jesus Christ through study of His life here on earth, using the gospels and The Desire of Ages.

Bible 11 - Adventist Eschatology

This course presents a verse-by-verse study of the books of Daniel and Revelation coupled with the last chapters of The Great Controversy with the purpose of developing a comprehensive understanding of Biblical prophecy and last day events.

Bible 12 - Defending Your Faith/Marriage and Family

There are two major components to Bible 12. In the first component, students learn to teach and defend their faith and beliefs through presentations and discussions. The second component uses Adventist Home to cover topics relating to having a Christian marriage and a Godly family.

Church History 12 - Apostolic to Advent Movements

This course examines the history and teachings of the Christian Church from the time of the apostles to the Reformation, and Millerite/Advent Movements with special focus on the foundational doctrines of these movements that lead to the development of the Adventist Church.
